Li Meiyu, a 26-year-old woman from Beijing won the competition for the Best Chinese Sommelier for French wines, which was held for the first time in September 2010 in Beijing and Shanghai.
The contest, the first of its type in China, consisted of four parts: a blind tasting of six French wines, serving a champagne and another wine, a food and wine matching exercise and a theoretical question. (China Daily – Vinexpo / 4 November 2010)
