The Sauternes premier grand cru classé Château Giraud has just been certified as an organic producer. It is thus the first estate amongst the 1855 grands crus to obtain this distinction. This certification is the accomplishment of a process initiated more than 20 years ago by Xavier Planty, one of the 4 owners of this 100-hectare property. (V&S News - 21 January 2011)
