Emmanuel Cruse takes over from Michel-Pierre Massonie as President of the Grand Conseil du Vin de Bordeaux, a position the latter held for 9 years. This organisation, which promotes Bordeaux wines in France and abroad, has 4,500 ambassadors working in 75 cities worldwide, including 27 in the U.S., as well as a similar number of commanderies organising, meetings, tastings and events to keep the wines of Bordeaux in public view.
12 commanderies have been founded since 2001 in Rio de Janeiro, Berlin, Budapest, Essen, Moscow, Riga, Salzburg, Vilnius, Jakarta, Manila, Kaolack city in Senegal and Shanghai. (Revue Vinicole Internationale / October 2010)
