Diageo has opened its new distillery, an investment of more than €46 million, at Roseisle in Speyside, Scotland.
It is the first malt distillery of this size to be opened in Scotland for 30 years and has been built to meet the substantial demand in the world for the whisky brands of the Group. The site, which is equipped with 14 copper pot stills, will produce around 10 million litres per year.
Bryan Donaghey, General Manager of Diageo Scotland, declared, “The Roseisle malt whisky distillery represents one of the largest Diageo investments in scotch whisky and is part of our £100 million investment programme over 3 years aimed at developing scotch”. (Vinexpo / 5 November 2010)
