Some plots of the former Venetian vineyard on Mazzorbo island, where the wine of the Doges was grown in the 15th century have been replanted. A few thousand bottles of Venissa, a white wine made from the Dorona grape, should be produced. This rare wine, which is already stimulating American and Chinese interest, will be protected from counterfeiters by an AOP. (VSB / 1st October 2010)
