Goldin Financial Holdings, a Hong Kong conglomerate that owns restaurants and businesses in consumer electronics, finance and wine importation, has just acquired Sloan Estate, a 16 hectare (40-acre) vineyard in Rutherford in the Napa Valley for US$40 million. Sloan Estate was founded in 1997 and produces premium wines that are retailed at prices varying between US$250 and US$747 per bottle. Goldin Financial Holdings has declared that it wants to continue running the estate in the same way as its founders and former owners did. (V&S News – 9 September 2011)
