Buena Vista Carneros, the oldest winery in California has been taken over by Boisset Group through its American subsidiary Boisset Family Estates. Located at the entrance of the Napa and Sonoma valleys, the 228-hectare (563-acre) property joins the Boisset family’s American portfolio, which consists of DeLoach Vineyards, famous for introducing Pinot Noir to the Russian River Valley in Sonoma, Raymond Vineyards, one of the first estates to bear the Napa Valley Rutherford appellation and Lyeth Estate, founding member of Meritage, the association of Californian producers using the eponymous term for wines blended from Bordeaux grape varieties. With this acquisition, Boisset Family Estates strengthens the “historic and traditional” image of its portfolio of Californian wines. (V&S News - 6 May 2011)
