According to the Scotch Whisky Association (SWA), exports of the national beverage grew by 3% in the first half of 2010, reaching a volume of 334 million litres. Thailand (up 79%), India (up 36%), Brazil (up 29%) and the US (up 21%) were amongst the briskest destinations while consignments to France fell slightly by 2%.
The value of Scotch whisky exports has increased substantially, because the SWA also announced overall growth of 17% in sales over the same period. (Rayon Boissons / 9 November 2010)
