Between 2005 and 2009, vodka consumption shot up by 64.82% to reach 2.50 million cases. This was partly due to the popularity in France of vodka / energy drink premixes.
By 2014, vodka consumption is expected to have grown substantially by 18.63%, reaching a volume of 3.22 million cases.
Similarly, rum, which is more and more used in some of the better known cocktails, including mojito, is regularly growing in popularity with French consumers: up 16.65% between 2005 and 2009, and a further 5.88% expected between 2010 and 2014. (Vinexpo – The IWSR / 17 January 2011)
