Between 2005 and 2009, the total sales turnover by value for still light wines in the UK increased by 4.86%. In 2007 the British began to spend more on wine than the French.
In 2010, the total sales turnover for still light wines in the UK reached US$14.087 billion (£8.642 billion). The VINEXPO study forecasts a further 1.1% growth in sales between 2010 and 2014. (Vinexpo – The IWSR / 14 January 2011)
