Chinese wines currently rule, but interest in imported wines is growing

22.02.2012 - Vinexpo news selection

In 2010, imported wines accounted for 15% of all volumes consumed in China, up 395% compared to 2006, but in value terms, non-Chinese wines represent 37.4% of total sales in the country.
While China is the 8th largest importer of wine in volume, it takes 5th place worldwide for the value of sales of the wines it imports, and according to the VINEXPO world market study, China could become the second most important importer of wine in value by 2015, behind UK.
