In 2010, 19.448 million cases of imported wines were consumed in Japan, more than in China, where 16.548 million cases were drunk.
Japanese consumption of imported wines increased by 16.44% in the 5-year period from 2006 to 2010 and is predicted by the VINEXPO study to grow by a further 18.15% between 2011 and 2015. (Vinexpo – 9 January 2012)
