14.12.2011 - Vinexpo news selection

Wine imports continue to increase in the former British colony of Hong Kong since it abolished customs duty in 2008. In the first eight months of this year, Hong Kong imported €640 million worth of wine, 65% more than during the same period in 2010. French wines took the lion’s share with 53% of the total, equivalent to sales of €420 million, €238 million of which were Bordeaux wines. Analysts estimate that Hong Kong could import €1 billion-worth of wine over the whole of 2011. (V&S News – 25 November 2011)
