In 2008, wine consumption in India reached 1.449 million 9-litre cases, equivalent to 17.38 million bottles, an increase of 372% compared to 2004.
The Vinexpo / The IWSR study forecasts an increase of 1.475 million 9-litre cases in Indian wine drinking between 2009 and 2013, making India the tenth largest growth nation for wine consumption in the period, both in terms of volume and value. (Vinexpo / The IWSR – 17 December 2010)
