The consumption of rosé wines in Italy was only 4.1 million 9-litre cases in 2010, equivalent to 1.3% of the total volume of still, light wines consumed in Italy, while worldwide rosé wine consumption represents 10% of the total consumed.
This volume is even decreasing in Italy, down 8.5% compared to 2005, while it is growing fast on a world scale.
50.2% of Italian still, light wine consumption is red and 48.5% is white. (VINEXPO - The iwsr / 15 March 2011)
