Japan: Still light wine sales increase twice as fast as the volumes consumed

Sales of wine at consumer prices reached US$2.8 billion in 2009, up 4.9% compared to 2005. This evolution was supported by increasing wine imports.
Between 2010 and 2014, sales are expected to continue to grow at about the same rate.
In 10 years, still light wine sales will have increased by 4.9%, while the volumes of wine consumed will have risen by 2.23%. (VINEXPO / The iwsr – 15 February 2011)
