Estates and Wines, the LVMH subsidiary responsible for non-French brands of wine, has long been producing and marketing Chandon sparkling wines in Argentina, California, Brazil and Australia.
This premium brand of sparkling wine is set to speed up its development, both in China, where Moët Hennessy Diageo and the Chinese group Ningxia Agro Business have set up a joint venture with a view to producing and marketing sparkling wine in China, and in India, where finalisation of a similar joint venture is underway.
According to the same in-house sources, Chandon sparkling wines are no longer reserved for their Asiatic markets - mainly China and Japan - and have now set foot in Europe (Belgium and Holland) with ambitious plans for the future. (V&S News – 22 September 2011)
