On September 2010 the Crus Bourgeois Alliance published the list of the 243 crus du Médoc authorised to wear the title "Cru Bourgeois". The list of the Crus Bourgeois comprises of 243 wines, against 247 in the former rating system, where a clear ranking system was in order, which consisted of two categories: "Supérieur" (87 wines) and "Exceptionnel" (9 wines). In the new quality chart of Crus Bourgeois, equality is the game: the classifications "Supérieur" and "Exceptionnel" no longer exist.
Frédéric de Luze, owner of the Château Paveil de Luze (AOC Margaux) and CEO of the LD.Vins trading house has succeeded Thierry Gardinier as president of the Alliance. (WineAlley.com / 12 October 2010)
