The division between Scotch dominating the sales in the north and Cognac in the south remains strong. Scotch sales increased by 24.1% in 2010 over the year earlier to reach around 310,000 cases. Cognac gained 8.9% to reach 160,000 cases.
Within Scotch, the super-premium sector amounted to 68,000 cases, an unusually high proportion of category sales. IWSR – June 2011)
