France is the 3rd largest market in the world for the consumption of wines sold for more than US$10 (€7.19) per bottle behind the U.S. and U.K. In 2009, 16.91 million cases of wines priced higher than US$10 were consumed in France.
Consumption of premium wines is growing fast and should increase by a further 13.04% between 2009 and 2014, according to the forecasts of the Vinexpo study. (VINEXPO – The iwsr / 3 February 2011)
