In 2009, red wine accounted for 85% of all wines consumed in Hong Kong. Their consumption grew by 147% between 2005 and 2009.
The consumption of white wines, rosés and sparkling wines has also increased by 6.7%, 38.5% and 53.3% respectively.
Between 2010 and 2014, red wine consumption is expected to continue to grow by 57% according to the VINEXPO study. (VINEXPO - The iwsr / 21 February 2011)
