Château Smith Haut Laffite, a Graves Grand Cru Classé in the Pessac-Leognan appellation with 67 hectares (166 acres) and annual production of 200,000 bottles, is to enjoy new investment. It is planned to build a second winery in order to separate the production of the first wine from the second, “Les Hauts de Smith”. The investment is estimated to reach €5 million and building work should begin after the 2011 harvest. (APS / 4 March 2011)
