For the record: France is the 2nd largest consumer of sparkling wines and the leading consumer worldwide of rosé wines.
Between 2005 and 2009, the consumption of sparkling wines increased by 4.62% and that of rosé wines grew by 19.81%.
In 2010, the French drank 72.12 million cases of rosé wines as well as 32.11 million cases of sparkling wines, which together accounted for more than one third (34.15%) of all wines consumed in France. (VINEXPO / The iwsr – 9 February 2011)
