Value of Argentinean wine exports to the U.S. overtakes that of Chilean exports

08.02.2011 - Vinexpo news selection

In 2010, sales of Argentinean wines in the U.S. exceeded those of Chilean wines. This was the first time: since 2005, Argentinean wine exporters have increased their sales to North America by 200%, growing from US$76 million to US$222 million, while their Chilean colleagues enjoyed growth of “only” 42% from US$148 million to US$210 million.
In terms of volumes exported, Chile remains ahead of Argentina, having sent 7.5 million cases to the U.S. compared to the 6.9 million cases sold by Argentinean winegrowers to American customers. (VSB - 7 January 2011)
