Diageo has strengthened its position in the Vietnamese group Hanoi
Liquor Joint Stock Company (Halico) by acquiring a further 5% share of
its equity for 7.3 million Euros in a public offering. Diageo’s share in
Halico now stands at 30%.
Founded in 1898, Halico is the largest
producer of locally branded spirits in Vietnam, the most popular of
which is Hanoi Vodka. (VSB – 2 September 2011)
