Wine Australia has appointed Yvonne May as its new head of operations in the UK and Ireland, following the resignation of Lisa McGovern.
May is become regional director for Wine Australia across the entire EU zone since January 2011. May's initial job will be to help steady the Wine Australia ship in the UK, which remains the key export market for Australian wine.
"Yvonne has more than 25 years’ experience working within the wine industry," said the CEO of Wine Australia, Andrew Cheesman. “Her wine industry experienced includes wine education, on-trade and retail sales, communications and marketing." (Just-drinks / 20 December 2010)
