In 2008, the total consumption of both still and sparkling wines in Singapore reached 811,800 9-litre cases. This was part of the 54.33% growth in wine consumption recorded between 2004 and 2008, of which 12.7% took place in 2008 alone.
The Vinexpo / The IWSR study forecasts that between 2009 and 2013, wine consumption will rise by a further 25.3%.
The 3.75 million Singaporeans of legal drinking age reached an average per capita consumption of 1.9 litres in 2008. They are expected to increase this to 2.3 litres by 2013. (IWSR / 16 December 2010)
