Chile’s top 10 export markets accounted for 72.5% of exports by value in 2009, up from 70.1% in 2008. Seven of these saw growth in volume in 2009, with only Denmark, Ireland and Belgium falling. In terms of value, the picture is less positive. Two other larger export markets saw falls in the value of Chilean wine in 2009: fourth-ranked Canada, which fell from $69.6m to $65m (-6.5%); and second-ranked UK, which fell from $205.8m to $198.8m (-3.4%).(IWSR / January 2011)
