New Zealand wine exports to the United States have jumped, and, despite the high Kiwi dollar, wine companies are still making money there, wine industry representatives say.
New Zealand wine exports to the US increased by 35 per cent to 29.7 million litres in the year to September, New Zealand Winegrower export statistics show.
The US is the third largest export market for Kiwi wine behind Britain and Australia, and accounts for about 20 per cent of all exports. It was the fastest growing of the three main markets, Zealand Winegrowers marketing director said. (The Marlborough Express / 4 November 2010)
