Taiwan imports rise

08.09.2011 - Vinexpo news selection

Still light wine imports into Taiwan grew 15,3% in the first four months of 2011 against the same period in 2010 to nearly 700,000 cases – nearly 100,000 cases more.
Growth is coming mainly from Spanish wines (+70% or 45,000 more cases) and Italian wines (+63% or 20,000 more cases).
Imports from France are fairly stable at 270,000 cases in the period, maintaining a market share of 39% of the total market. Australian and Chilean wines both showed declines, while US and South African wine imports are growing. (IWSR – August 2011)
