Exhibitors: the largest showcase in the world

All together, this Vinexpo accommodated 2,400 direct and indirect exhibitors from 45 countries with stands on a total oor area that was deliberately limited to 41,000 sq. m.
France with a total of 23,687 sq. m of stand area was still the leading exhibiting country.
Within this, the Bordeaux-Gironde region led with 7,165 sq. m of stand area, followed by Burgundy (3,748 sq.m), Languedoc-Roussillon (2,396 sq. m) and Champagne (2,060 sq. m).
The other 44 exhibiting countries together covered 39% of the 41,000 sq. m of stand area. This proportion had been continuously increasing since 1999, except for 2005.

The surprising change in 2007 was that the second largest exhibiting country in terms of stand area was no longer Italy: Spain took over second place with 3,959 sq. m. Italy went down to third place with 3,843 sq. m, followed by Portugal with 1,270 sq. m, Chile with 1,086 sq. m, the United States with 988 sq. m and Germany with 835 sq. m. The New World countries, which have always been loyal exhibitors at Vinexpo, were well represented: Argentina, Australia, Chile, United States, South Africa, etc. were represented by almost 190 companies.
Spirits companies took up 5,006 sq. m or 12.21% of total stand area. The companies Walders (UK) and Tigoda Distillery (Russia) exhibited for the first time at Vinexpo.

Marketers reached its objectives

54 exhibitors from 10 countries used nearly 1,000 sq. m of stands to display innovative equipment and effective solutions to boost wine and spirits sales to consumers. 9,208 professionals visited this rst Marketers exhibition, to the general satisfaction of its exhibitors. It is therefore planned to organise Marketers again in 2009 in the Convention Centre.
